Beterschap

Afgelopen donderdag heeft mijn moeder dus een bypass-operatie ondergaan. Alles is goed gegaan en heeft ze tot nu toe geen pijn. Volgens haar is het ‘alleen wat gevoelig’. Ze zou eigenlijk afgelopen vrijdag geholpen worden, maar ze had geluk en kreeg ze te horen dat ze een dag eerder naar Nieuwegein mocht komen. Zaterdag werd ze alweer terug gebracht naar haar eigen ziekenhuis. Vandaag is ze al naar huis gekomen. Eigenlijk was het de bedoeling dat ze morgen zou gaan, maar mevrouw vondt dat het goed ging en wilde naar huis. Na wat geregel is dat dus ook gebeurd. Vier weken ziekenhuis was genoeg voor haar.
Nu mag ze niet de eerste dagen niet alleen blijven, dus als mijn vader naar het werk gaat ben ik aanwezig. Zo hebben we nog even quality time voordat we naar Australië vertrekken.
Zondag gaan we naar Berlijn om ons visum op te gaan halen. We konden ook onze paspoorten opsturen, maar zelf ophalen naar het lange wachten sluit gelijk die periode af. En het is natuurlijk leuk om nog even drie dagen naar Berlijn te gaan.

Last Thursday my mum had her bypass-operation. It all went right and until now she has no pain. Like she says ‘it’s just feels a bit sensitive’. The planning was she would have her operation last Friday, but she was lucky and she was brought a day earlier to Nieuwegein (there’s the hospital which do such operations). Last Saturday they brought her back to her own hospital. And today she already came home. The planning was to go home tomorrow, but she thought she had spend enough time there. So after a few arrangements she could go home. Four weeks in hospital was enough for her.
And now she is not allowed to be home alone so when my father leaves for work, I come to their place. So now we have some quality time before we go to Australia.
Sunday we are going to Berlin to pick up our visa. We could also sent our passports, but picking up ourselves is also a good closure of this period. And it’s always fun to go to Berlin for 3 days.
